Most people intending to visit Switzerland for an Assisted Voluntary Death (AVD) do seem to find their way to this website sooner or later. It is therefore significant that in October 2025 our monthly site visitor numbers were precisely double those of the previous year. Specifically, we had 2,840 individual visitors and they read, on average, 3.3 pages each.
These are not large numbers but compare very favourably with the 700 or so people who actually travel to Switzerland each year for an AVD. It means that for every single AVD recipient, there are around fifty who have enquired about it.
It is difficult to know why the “hits” rate has increased so much. The information we provide is substantially the same as it was. The numbers visiting Switzerland have risen, but only by less than 10%. The proportion of enquiries from the USA have doubled to 42% of the total but that cannot be entirely due to the election of Donald Trump.
It may simply be that the increasing use and effectiveness of AI is enabling a greater degree of internet traffic to head our way even though we do not spend anything upon Search Engine Optimisation or any other tricks of the website game. The most popular pages, incidentally, are simply the reports of our visits to Dignitas, Pegasos and Athanasios.
