The latest edition of “Going to Switzerland” seems not to be complete. Specifically, it makes no reference to Pegasos. The booklet forms part of the stable of products available from EXIT International.
When asked about the omission, EXIT responded by saying “The book profiles the 3 most important organisations: Dignitas, Athanasios and The Last Resort”.
Excluded are Pegasos, Lifecircle, EX International and Phoenix Care. It is the absence of Pegasos that is the most puzzling – they are now handling about 35% of the Assisted Voluntary Deaths (AVDs) for foreign visitors to Switzerland and until the middle of 2024 were very closely associated with EXIT themselves.
The inclusion of Dignitas is certainly justified and no one is going to object to Athanasios either. Casting The Last Resort in the same light, however, does seem questionable. To our knowledge, they have only ever conducted one AVD in Switzerland and that resulted in a prosecution.
The book is available from EXIT International for €40 ($47) plus postage.
